CNC Lab

Mechanical Laboratories Objectives:

  • Describe the various manufacturing processes for material removal and understand the appropriate technology for each of the cutting processes. Understand the role of CAD/CAM in modern design and manufacturing.
Outcomes:
  • Establish a baseline knowledge of the basic principles needed to understand manufacturing process.
  • Describe the principles of Computer Aided Designing systems and the concepts of Geometric modeling, solid modeling, and feature-based design modeling.
  • Create manually G-code CNC programs, simulate the tool-path.

FMHM Lab

Mechanical Laboratories Objectives:

  • To expose to the basic principles of fluid mechanics and to familiarize students to the practical applications of it. Impart knowledge on the operation of various fluid machines and characterization of them. To make students competent in using hydraulic machines in the field of fluid power engineering and to find scopes for future research in same.
Outcomes:
  • After successful completion of the course, the students shall be able to Acquire skills in basic principles of fluid mechanics.
  • Comprehend safety measures required to be taken while working in the fluid mechanics and hydraulic machines.

Internal Combustion Engine Lab

Machine Dynamics Lab

Mechanical Laboratories Objectives:

  • To impart practical knowledge on design and analysis of mechanisms in the machine tools and automobiles. In Machine Dynamics Lab, the students are doing the experiments related to their theory subjects like Engineering Mechanics, Machines and Mechanisms and Fundamentals of Vibration and Noise. Various equipments like governors, gyroscopes, balancing machines and universal vibration facilities are available to understand machine dynamics. The working models of simple mechanisms like gears, cams and followers are very much useful to understand Basic Mechanical Engineering .The vibration equipments are well established in dynamics lab.
Outcomes:

After successful completion of the course, the students shall be able to

  • Analyze static and dynamic forces in mechanisms.

Mechanical Measurement Lab

Mechanical Laboratories Objectives:

  • To acquiring the basic knowledge regarding methods of measurements. Classification of measuring instruments and types of errors.
Outcomes:
  • Establish a basic knowledge and basic principles needed to understand the calibration of measuring instruments like strain gauge, thermocouples, sine bar, pressure gauges.
  • To determine the damping coefficient and frequency of vibration of vibration measuring instruments.
  • To get a broad idea about various pressure and temperature measurements

Numerical Computing & Solid Modeling Lab
