Dean Research

Research is a cornerstone of the learning endeavors at DRIEMS University. The Directorate of Research (DoR) of the DRIEMS University serves as critical in this respect, offering focused attention to directing and coordinating the research activities of various departments and centers of the university. The mission of the DoR is to provide a supportive ecosystem for fostering research excellence, implementation of research policy, stimulation of innovation, strengthening of coordination, and monitoring and evaluation of student research. Under the visionary leadership, the directorate also facilitates the overall research progress of the university under various schemes, research collaborations, start-ups, IPR protection, research orientation programs, and capacity-building strategies to increase the university’s competitive edge and global recognition.

To encourage collaborative efforts with industry, government, community-based organizations, and agencies at local, national, and international levels.

To enhance access to research opportunities by mobilizing resources and securing funding.

Mission

To establish a robust framework for developing and enhancing the research ecosystem within higher education institutions, in alignment with the principles of NEP-2020.

Objectives

To establish an organizational structure with role-based functions for the Research Development Cell (RDC), formulate a comprehensive Research Policy for HEIs, identify key thrust areas of research, and create cluster groups, frontline teams, or consortia of researchers for collaborative efforts.

To incorporate enabling provisions in Research Policies for the recruitment of research personnel, procurement of equipment, and financial management while granting adequate autonomy to Principal Investigators for effective dissemination of research outcomes to stakeholders and the public.

To set up a particular purpose vehicle to support researchers and innovators, identify potential collaborators from industry, research organizations, academic institutions, and other stakeholders, and foster synergistic partnerships.

To act as a liaison between researchers and relevant research funding agencies, guiding in preparing and submitting project proposals and ensuring adherence to timelines in the post-sanctioning phase.

To enhance coordination among cells or centers dealing with University-Industry Linkages, Incubation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

To develop an Institutional Research Information System for effectively sharing the status of ongoing and completed research projects, available expertise, and resources, leveraging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to create a database of in-house experts for industrial consultancy and services.

To engage and utilize the expertise of superannuated faculty and scientists in building research capacity among young talents and promoting researcher mobility across institutions and R&D laboratories.

To serve as a nodal centre for ideating and conceptualizing research themes by organizing workshops and training programs while ensuring integrity, ethical practices, and compliance with bioethical committee clearances wherever necessary.

ACADEMIC RESEARCH

  DRIEMS University regularly organizes conferences, seminars, and workshops to inspire and engage young minds with the latest innovations and scientific advancements. These platforms foster curiosity and cultivate a strong interest in research.

  Students are actively encouraged to undertake innovative and socially relevant research projects, which are supported and funded by the university.
