Talented students from the School of Engineering and Technology, School of Pharmacy, and School of Management participated in the BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Pre-Consultation Program on February 4, 2025, at KIIT, Bhubaneswar. Organized by BCKIC Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, and KIIT TBI, the event provided a platform for nearly 70 students to showcase their innovative ideas in the “Student-based Idea Pitching Competition” before esteemed juries, CEOs, and startup founders. The participants gained invaluable insights into entrepreneurship, with guidance from Dr. Bajra Panjar Mishra and Mr. Swagatam Parida.

Students from the School of Pharmacy, School of Engineering and Technology, and School of Management at DRIEMS University participated in the prestigious Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 on January 28, 2025, at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar. Under the guidance of Dr. Biswaranjan Mohanty (SOP), Dr. Bajra Panjar Mishra (SOET), and Mr. Sudeep Kumar Bharati (SOM), nearly 100 students attended the event, exploring the Make in Odisha exhibition. They gained valuable insights into recent innovations and advanced technologies adopted by various startups, enriching their understanding of the evolving entrepreneurial landscape.

The Students of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology (SOET), DRIEMS University participated in the HACK4PURPOSE All India Hackathon 2024, held on June 26-27, 2024, at Anna University, Chennai. Organized by Dpurpose Foundation, Chennai, in association with Anna University, the hackathon aimed to gather innovative ideas and solutions from students across the country to address complex societal challenges. UG/PG students and research scholars from AICTE-affiliated institutions took part in the event. The program included team idea presentations and evaluations by expert juries on June 26, followed by a feedback session from investors and prize distribution on June 27. Students showcased their innovative skills, and a B.Tech 2nd-year team from the ENTC Department, SOET, DRIEMS University, secured the 1st Prize at the national level, winning ₹1 lakh in cash. Participants also received valuable feedback on their prototypes and discussed potential market opportunities with investors.

The Students of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology (SOET), DRIEMS University participated in the 25th ISTE State Level Annual Student Convention 2024, held on August 30-31, 2024, at Balasore College of Engineering and Technology, Odisha. Organized by BCET, Balasore, in association with ISTE, New Delhi, the event aimed to provide quality training for students and teachers to enhance their skills and update their knowledge. UG/PG students and research scholars from AICTE-affiliated institutions took part in paper and poster presentations, where their ideas were evaluated by expert juries. The program included inauguration and student presentations on August 30, followed by a feedback session and prize distribution on August 31. Students showcased innovative solutions to various challenges, and Chittaranjan Behera (B.Tech 2nd year, ENTC) and Sibasundar Barik (B.Tech 2nd year, CSE) won 1st prize in the paper presentation. Participants also received valuable feedback to refine their research and develop better prototypes.

The School of Engineering and Technology (SOET) organized the DRIEMS Internal Hackathon-2024 on September 5, 2024, at Academic Block-I & II, DRIEMS University. The event, led by Prof. (Dr.) Priyadarshi Kanungo (Director, Academics), Prof. (Dr.) Nayan Ranjan Samal (Dean, SOET), Prof. (Dr.) Alok Ranjan Biswal (Associate Dean, SOET), and Dr. Bajra Panjar Mishra (SPOC, DRIEMS Hackathon & SIH-2024), aimed to select student teams for the Smart India Hackathon 2024 in November. The Students of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology (SOET), DRIEMS University participated in the event, which included registration, problem statement reveal, project idea presentations, evaluations by expert juries, and a feedback session. Participants showcased their innovative ideas and prototype models, receiving constructive feedback from juries to enhance their feasibility. The hackathon provided a valuable opportunity for students to refine their problem-solving skills and prepare for national-level competitions.

The Students of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology (SOET), DRIEMS University participated in the Globelics-LICS International Conference 2024, held on September 20-21, 2024, at Campus 11, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. Organized by the School of Economics and Commerce, KIIT-DU, the conference provided a multidisciplinary platform for scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and development organizations to engage in dialogue and knowledge sharing. UG/PG students, research scholars, and faculty members from AICTE-affiliated institutions attended the event. The program featured an inauguration, keynote speaker sessions, and startup company presentations on September 20, followed by a feedback session and prize distribution on September 21. Students gained insights into business policies, government initiatives, and startup funding resources, while startup companies showcased innovative solutions through prototype demonstrations. The event helped students explore funding opportunities and refine their ideas for better prototype development based on expert feedback.
