Prof. Sushanta Kumar Sethy

Associate Professor

Prof. Sushanta Kumar Sethy was born on march 1975 odisha , India. He received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering from CET, OUAT, Odisha in 1999. He completed Master’s degree in power system from Bengal engineering and science university, shibpur, howarh, west Bengal in 2009. His area of interest is power electronics includes its application to power system . He has published many research papers in national and international journals. He has presented many research related papers in leading seminars and conferences. He has deep-hearted passion for art, literature, and culture of different societies. He is a passionate traveler of education and bagged Sarbapalli Gurusmman Award -2018 from Sarala Bhawan, Cuttack and received the prestigious Visweswaraya Prativa Puraskar - 2019 from Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswr for Excellency in the field of Education. Presently , He is working as Associate Professor & Mentor in Electrical Engineering Department at DRIEMS(Autonomous) , Tangi , Cuttack, Odisha .He is also a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (FIE), Life Member of ISTE, Life member of International Association of Engineers(IAENG), Hongkong , Member of Board of Governing Body (GB) of DRIEMS School of Professional Studies, Cuttack, Joint Secretary, The Odisha Engineers Forum , Executive Member of Indian Energy Congress and Reviewer of journal IJICAS. Besides, his teaching experiences spanning two decades, Prof. Sethy has worked effectively in various capacities as Chief Coordinator, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA 2.0), a Programme of MHRD, Govt. of India. Chief Examiners as well as Question Setters for various Examinations conducted by BPUT/F.M. University/SOA University , Prof. in charge Examinations, Head of Electrical Engg. Dept. in BCET, Balasore and afterwards in DRIEMS (Autonomous), Cuttack and also successfully presented the department before the NBA & NAAC peer team in evaluation process of accreditation , Organised many national level Project Exhibition “DREIST” as Chief Coordinator, Convenors of many National Seminars, Conferences, Workshops like NSTTRT – 2013, NCPEC – 2014, ARES-2014, HVIE – 2015, UAPTS – 2016 , SEEE-2018 & many more. Also has been working as Superintendent of Boy’s Hostel, DRIEMS, Cuttack since Sept. 2014 and as NSS Officer for DRIEMS Group of Institutions to coordinate the smooth conductance of all NSS activities since February’ 2016. Being a Trained Programme Officer of National Service Scheme (NSS) under Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, he has become an inspiration for many young generations and received the State level award from Govt. of Odisha for donating highest units of blood samples to Red Cross Blood Bank, Cuttack. Apart from his academic engagements, Prof. Sethy is very well known among the student and teacher community for encouraging and motivating the youth in the field of Career Counseling, Skill Enhancement and Personality Development of the youth through Community involvement. He is an active member of the society for creating awareness among the people for Swachhata Abhijan, Health & Hygiene, Literacy, Plantation and Environment Conservation, Importance of Blood Donation etc. He is voluntarily working with the community for improving the basic educational standard of the deprived children as well as orphans, senior citizens, specially-abled people, and others imparting life skill education. For the successful journey in the various fields of social works, Prof. Sethy was enthusiastically appraised many times by Hon’ble Founder Chairman Sj. Pramod Chandra Rath and Director (Admin.) Sj. Balaram Kar of DRIEMS Groups of Institutions.
