๐ŸŒŸ Visit to ASHRAYA – The Shelter for Specially Challenged Children ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“ Participants: B.Sc Nursing 6th Semester & GNM 2nd Year Students (169 students)

This insightful visit was organized by the Department of Psychiatry Nursing under the guidance of:

  • ๐Ÿง‘โ€โš•๏ธ Prof. Sathish Rajamani, HOD
  • ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ Miss Smrutishree P. Dalai, Associate Professor

At the center, students were warmly guided by:

  • Mrs. Sujata Pattanayak
  • Dr. Sucheta Jena
  • Mrs. Nibedita Patra

๐Ÿ“ Objectives of the Visit

1๏ธโƒฃ To educate students about disabilities and developmental delays, including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and other behavioral symptoms in children.
2๏ธโƒฃ To develop communication skills with intellectually disabled children.
3๏ธโƒฃ To understand therapeutic approaches in child psychiatry units.

๐Ÿ’ก Highlights of the Visit

๐Ÿ’ฌ Students interacted with children facing Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Intellectual Disabilities, offering:

  • ๐ŸŽจ Art Therapy
  • ๐Ÿงฉ Play Therapy
  • ๐Ÿ’ƒ Dance Therapy

๐Ÿ“š The visit included a practical orientation on activities conducted by professionals at the:

  • School of Autism
  • Vocational Training School
  • School of Intellectual Disabilities
