Dr. Durga Prasad Mishra is the Dean at School of Occupational and Physiotherapy, DRIEMS UNIVERSITY. Dr. Durga Prasad Mishra is a distinguished academician and healthcare professional with a multifaceted background and a decade-long tenure in the field of healthcare and education. His extensive qualifications include a Bachelor and Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (BOT & MOT), a Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics (PGDND), a Master's degree in Applied Clinical Psychology (MAPC), Fellowship of the Advance Occupational Therapy (FAOT) with a specialization in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD), and a Doctorate in Physiology having more than 11 years of experiences in clinical and teaching. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Mishra has exhibited a profound dedication to advancing healthcare practices and fostering academic excellence. As a Dean, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of his institution, overseeing curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and student affairs to ensure the highest standards of education and research are maintained. Dr. Mishra's expertise spans various domains of healthcare, with a particular focus on neurodevelopmental disorders. His pioneering research in this field has contributed significantly to the understanding and treatment of conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, and developmental delay. His comprehensive approach to therapy integrates the latest evidence-based practices with a deep understanding of physiological mechanisms, offering innovative solutions to improve the quality of life for individuals with neurodevelopmental challenges. Dr. Mishra is a regular health columnist in various newspapers and has participated in health-related programs on different TV channels such as National Odia, Argus, Nandighosh TV, Kalinga TV, OTV, ETV, among others. He has also contributed to All India Radio and various web portals. He has written a booklet on Autism in Odia for the Department of Occupational Therapy at SVNIRTAR. Dr. Mishra has been recognized as a resource person in various Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) programs organized by reputable institutions. Besides, he was invited as guest and speakers in various national and international conferences across all over India. Work closely with the University Compliance Office, the Vice Chancellor for Finance, the Vice Chancellor for Research, and the department heads of school to maintain accountability, resolve any significant issues of noncompliance, and reduce the risk of future occurrences.
