Nobel Day, a CME on Sleep Medicine and a workshop on Polysomnography was conducted

🛌 On 10th December – Nobel Day, a CME on Sleep Medicine and a workshop on Polysomnography was conducted from 9 AM to 6 PM by the Sleep Disorder Clinic & Sleep Lab division of the Dept of Physiology, in Padmini Auditorium, DIHSH Tangi. 🌟 It was inaugurated by VC of DRIEMS University, Prof. PK Hota. The welcome address was given by Dean & Principal Prof. Dr. BN Mohapatra, while Prof. Dr. DN Moharana, Superintendent, emphasized the importance of Sleep Medicine in the current scenario.

Prof. Sandhyarani Moharana, Head of the Dept of Physiology, thanked participants from AIIMS Bhubaneswar, SUM Hospital, and SCB for their active involvement. Sleep Medicine Course Director & In-Charge of the Sleep Disorder Clinic & Lab, Prof. Dr. Arpita Priyadarshini, delivered the vote of thanks.

📢 Renowned speakers, including Prof. Dr. Sourin Bhunia (Head, Pulmonology, AIIMS Bbsr), Prof. Dr. Ashok Kumar Jena (Head, Orthodontics, AIIMS Bbsr), Prof. Dr. Ellora Devi (SUM IMS Bbsr), Prof. Dr. Asrumouchan Sahoo (Psychiatry, SCBMC), Prof. Subhalaxmi Routray (ENT, SCB), and Prof. Arpita, shared insights on managing sleep disorders like snoring, insomnia, and narcolepsy.

👩‍⚕️ Participants included undergraduate and postgraduate students from DRIEMS, SCB, and SUM. Hands-on training on PSG was conducted, which was an exciting experience for all. Sleep technicians Mr. Sanjay Swain and Dilip Swain contributed significantly. Senior faculty members Prof. Dr. Maya Padhi and Prof. Basant Mahanty were also present. OCMR granted 4 credit points for the CME.
